with Andrew Wilson

Great for new, entry-level, AND returning students.
No experience is necessary. All are welcome!

The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department is excited to present DISNEY'S MY SON PINOCCHIO, JR. in its 2025-2026 Education Series!

In DISNEY'S MY SON PINOCCHIO, JR.,  the classic tale of toymaker, Geppetto’s, little wooden puppet is given new life. This new musical, which retells the classic Disney story from Geppetto’s perspective, features the beloved classic songs, “When You Wish upon a Star” and “I’ve Got No Strings,” alongside a host of new songs by Oscar winner and Grammy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz.

Join the Blue Fairy, Stromboli and a lively cast of characters as Geppetto journeys beyond the toyshop to discover the meaning of family. When the Blue Fairy grants Geppetto's wish to bring his beloved puppet to life, the new father quickly learns that being a parent is full of challenges. He struggles to make his son "the perfect boy," only to lose him to a gang of Roustabouts. It is only when faced with the thought of never seeing Pinocchio again that Geppetto truly learns the joys of being a father and loving his child unconditionally.

Summer Institute Production II, Ages 8-18: Beetlejuice, JR. (6550)

$385

with Joannie DiPrizio

Calendar Jul 21, 2025 at 9 am, runs for 2 weeks

Ages: 4 - 18

Six public performances. Previous experience is required.

Summer Institutes are intensive, all-inclusive theatrical training grounds for experienced musical theatre performers resulting in six public performances.  They provide exciting opportunities for committed students to be a part of a full-scale production. A demanding two-week process from beginning to end, a SLT Summer Institute may best be described as “summer stock” for youth!

It's our show now, kid. The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in BEETLEJUICE, JR., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.

With music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominee Eddie Perfect and a book by Tony Award-nominated pair Anthony King and Scott Brown, Beetlejuice was nominated for eight 2019 Tony Awards including Best New Musical. A viral "sucks-yes" on social media, this musical struck a chord with young theatre lovers who adored its unabashed humor and emotional honesty.

Created for the generation that made it a hit, BEETLEJUICE, JR. is a wacky theatrical party for all!

Ages 8-18, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM; $385

---

Even our youngest performers get to shine in SLT’s Summer Institute! With six public performances, they'll get to share their hard work with family, friends, and theatre lovers alike on the historic Landers stage!
