Embark on an emotional adventure with our INSIDE OUT CAMP Studio Theatre Workshop! Designed specifically for our youngest performers, immerse your child in the world of acting basics through engaging theatre games and improvisation activities. As they explore the fun of emotions, they'll have the chance to showcase their newfound skills in a free informal performance on the final day, featuring songs, dances, and script excerpts!

But the fun doesn't stop there! Participants will also enjoy the opportunity to experience the magic of a live performance, get creative with themed craft projects inspired by their favorite Inside Out characters, and deepen their understanding of the subject matter with guided storytellers and visits from beloved costumed characters straight out of the Inside Out universe. Springfield Little Theatre's Summer Institute presents THE SPONGEBOB THE MUSICAL: YOUTH EDITION! Summer Institutes are intensive, all-inclusive theatrical training grounds for experienced musical theatre performers resulting in six public performances.  They provide exciting opportunities for committed students to be a part of a full-scale production. A demanding two-week process from beginning to end, a SLT Summer Institute may best be described as “summer stock” for youth!

Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world!

Technical Theatre Camp offers an incredible opportunity for students 12 and up to gain training, insight, respect for, and hands-on experience in technical theatre from Springfield Little Theatre’s own Scenic, Lighting, Sound, and Costume Designers, and the Summer Youth Programs support staff. Students enrolled in Technical Theatre Camp will not only gain a valuable skill set, but they will also help to create the sets, costumes, and props, as well as serve as the technical crew, Springfield Little Theatre Summer Institute production of THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL: YOUTH EDITION.

The day wraps up with a lively demonstration performance at 4:00 PM for parents and family members to enjoy. Summer Stages invites you to learn acting basics through dynamic theatre games, scene work, and electrifying musical theatre song and dance numbers inspired by iconic pop stars.

On the final day, our talented performers will take the stage to present a free informal performance for their thrilled parents and friends, showcasing their talents and paying tribute to the greatest hits of American pop music.

But that's not all! Participants with a passion for visual art will have the chance to showcase their creativity by crafting their own headshot display and scenic elements for the show, adding an extra layer of personalization to their American Pop experience.
