SLT Academy Preview Days

Step into the spotlight and experience a sneak peek into the vibrant world of SLT Academy at our Preview Days this summer!
Hosted by The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department, this two-day event is the perfect way to experience firsthand what it is like to be an SLT Academy Student at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts. Dive into an Academy student's "Day in the Life" as you meet our dedicated teachers, participate in trial classes, and discover if this dynamic program is the perfect fit for you.
Students should bring a sack lunch, a water bottle, and an awesome attitude! Additionally, students are asked to wear comfortable clothing that will not interfere with movement in any way and appropriate footwear. No open-toed shoes, please.

Experience the enchantment of DISNEY MAGIC at our Summer Stages camp! Immerse yourself in the world of theater as we teach acting basics through lively theatre games, scene work, and magical musical theatre song and dance numbers inspired by beloved Disney classics like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Frozen, and more!
On the final day, our young performers will take center stage to present a free informal performance for their proud parents and friends, showcasing their talents and the Disney magic they've brought to life.
But the fun doesn't stop there! Participants with a love for visual art will have the chance to express their creativity by crafting their own headshot display and scenic elements for the show, adding a touch of personal flair to their Disney experience.

Production Camp offers an enriching opportunity for students 12 and up to gain training, insight, respect for, and hands on experience in technical theatre from The Judy’s own Scenic, Lighting, Sound, and Costume Designers, and the SLT summer support staff. Students enrolled in Production Camp will not only gain a valuable skill set, but they will also help to create the sets, costumes, and props, as well as serve as the technical crew, for the SLT Summer Series presentation of DISNEY'S ALICE IN WONDERLAND, JR.
PERFORMANCES: Thursday and Friday, June 20 and 21, 2024; 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM

Participation in a Studio Theatre Production offers a fast-paced rehearsal process for experienced musical theatre teens resulting in six public performances. They provide exciting opportunities for committed students to be a part of a smaller-cast production in a black-box setting.

A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance, and love come vibrantly to life.
