Summer Youth Programs
SLT Academy Preview, 6th – 12th Grade: Experience Two Days in the Life (6430)

Ages: 11 - 17
Thinking about joining SLT Academy? Get a firsthand look at what it’s like to be a middle or high school student in our pre-professional training program during this two-day immersive experience!
Participants will:
- Meet one-on-one with our staff for personalized consultations
- Tour The Judy and explore our state-of-the-art facilities
- Preview our curriculum and daily schedule
- Take part in conservatory-style arts classes in acting, voice, and dance
- Meet current and former students and hear about their experiences
- Connect with our talented faculty and see what makes SLT Academy unique
The experience culminates in a Parent & Student Informational Session and Q&A at 3:30 PM on the second day, where families can ask questions and gain deeper insight into our program.

Studio Theatre Youth Entertainment Workshop, Ages 12-18: Band Geeks (6500)

Get ready to make some noise!
Studio Theatre Youth Entertainment Workshop Productions are intensive, all-inclusive theatrical training experiences designed for experienced musical theatre performers ages 12–18 who are ready for their next challenge! In this advanced workshop, students will collaborate to rehearse and present a full production of BAND GEEKS, building their skills in acting, singing, and dancing while working as a true ensemble.
BAND GEEKS is a high-energy musical comedy about a group of passionate (and slightly chaotic) musicians who refuse to give up on their dreams of performing. When an underdog band is given the chance to prove themselves, they must learn to work together, overcome rivalries, and find their true sound. Filled with big personalities, hilarious moments, and plenty of music, this show celebrates teamwork, determination, and the joy of performing
PERFORMANCES: Thursday, June 11 at 7:00 PM, Friday, June 12 at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and Saturday, June 13 at 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM , and 7:00 PM in the Studio Theatre at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts.

Step into the spotlight and train like a star in this high-energy K-Pop Demon Hunters – inspired SLT Summer Stages Workshop! Young performers will leap into the thrilling world of live performance through acting games, improvisation, scene work, and musical theatre song and dance. Along the way, students will also unleash their creativity by making themed craft projects inspired by the camp’s adventurous spirit.
On the final day of the workshop, families and friends are invited to a free informal showcase where students will share what they’ve learned—and join forces with their favorite K-Pop idols to help restore the legendary Honmoon!

High tides and Broadway vibes!
Dive into a sea of imagination this summer in SLT’s Summer Stages Workshop Session II! Young performers will make waves as they explore the magic of theatre in an ocean-inspired adventure filled with acting games, improvisation, scene work, and musical theatre song and dance. Campers will perform favorites from some of Broadway’s most beloved oceanic tales, including The Little Mermaid, SpongeBob SquarePants, Finding Nemo, and more! From shimmering sea creatures to daring deep-sea explorers, students will build confidence, creativity, and teamwork—all while having oceans of fun.
Students who love visual art will also enjoy creating under-the-sea themed crafts and colorful aquatic projects that encourage their creativity to swim free.
On the final day of camp, families and friends are invited to an informal showcase, where our rising stars will make a splash on stage, sharing excerpts from the magical underwater worlds they’ve explored together.

Young performers will discover their inner superstar through acting games, improvisation, scene work, and musical theatre song & dance—all while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Whether they’re ready to break into a big dance number, belt out a pop anthem, or bring a dramatic scene to life, campers will shine like true stars.
Students who love visual art will also enjoy creating movie-inspired crafts and themed projects worthy of the big screen.
On the final day, families and friends are invited to a free informal showcase where our talented cast will take the stage and give a performance full of heart, harmony, and show-stopping fun!

Young performers will journey down a yellow brick road of theatricality and discover a bit of the magic both under the lights and behind the curtain as they explore acting games, improvisation, scene work, and musical theatre song & dance—all while growing inconfidence, creativity, and courage.
From powerful show-stopping numbers to heartfelt character moments, campers will discover what it means to find their voice and shine on stage. Students who love visual art will also enjoy creating Oz-inspired crafts and sparkling theatrical designs.
On the final day, families and friends are invited to an informal showcase where our munchkins and wickedly wonderful players will take the stage to present their spellbinding repertoire.

Do you want to create your own theatrical stories on stage? The Devising Original Theatre Springfield’s Young Artist Intensive has been created just for you! In one week, we will take your ideas from first glimmer to full production. We will explore how to tell stories through movement, words, sound, lighting, and puppetry. There is a place for all who are interested in becoming a playwright, composer, actor, director, or theatre maker.
The culmination of this intensive includes performances during the July 9-12, 2026 DOTS Fringe Festival at The Judy.

This summer, even our youngest performers will get to experience the excitement of stepping foot on the beautiful Landers stage! Designed specifically to provide the best “big stage” opportunity for ages 4-7, this exciting program runs from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM daily and offers a fun, engaging introduction to musical theatre. Participants will explore acting, singing, and dancing in a nurturing and enthusiastic environment, all while preparing a pre-performance for MATILDA THE MUSICAL, JR.!
With two public performances, they'll get to share their own hard work with family, friends, and theatre lovers alike on the Landers stage, then enjoy watching the Summer Institute production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL, JR.!
