Summer Institutes are intensive, all-inclusive theatrical training grounds for experienced musical theatre performers resulting in six public performances. They provide exciting opportunities for committed students to be a part of a full-scale production. A demanding two-week process from beginning to end, a SLT Summer Institute may best be described as “summer stock” for youth!

When teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie is drafted into the army, his manager and secretary cook up one last publicity stunt: Conrad will visit a small town and give one lucky fan a goodbye kiss on live television. But when the famous singer arrives, the town turns upside down with jealous boyfriends, star-struck teens, and plenty of hilarious chaos!

Summer Series Production, Ages 4-18: Junie B.'s Essential Survival Guide To School, JR. (6500)

Six public performances. All experience levels!
Be a part of a fun musical theatre production from start to finish in The Reynolds Auditorium at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre! All experience levels welcome.
This SLT Summer experience concludes with 6 public performances of JUNIE B.'s ESSENTIAL SURVIVAL GUIDE TO SCHOOL, JR., a fun, family-friendly musical based on the popular Junie B. Jones books.
The story follows first-grader Junie B. Jones, who decides she’s the perfect person to write the ultimate guide to surviving school. As she gathers advice about everything from backpacks and classroom rules to friendships and playground drama, Junie B. struggles with writer’s block and keeps getting into trouble along the way. With help from her classmates and teacher, she learns that making mistakes is part of growing up—and that school (and life) always has more lessons to teach.
The show features upbeat songs, lots of humor, and heartwarming messages about friendship, responsibility, and learning from your mistakes
