The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department is excited to present GIANTS IN THE SKY - A NEW CHILDREN'S MUSICAL in its 2023-2024 Education Series!

This magical story explores the world of Giants who live above the clouds. Ever since they left Earth a long time ago, the Giants have made a life up above where their job is to keep the sky beautiful. They polish the stars, poke the clouds to let it rain and paint the sunsets. But there is one curious Giant who wonders what life is like on Earth, so she steals a key to the locked up “beanstalk” and embarks on an adventure down below!

GIANTS IN THE SKY - A NEW CHILDREN'S MUSICAL will be directed by Shannon Sherrow.

Placement auditions for performers ages 8 and up will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 7:00 PM at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre ("The Judy"). At the auditions, participants will be taught a short movement combination, a portion of a song from the show, and will be given and asked to perform a short line reading.

The cast and parent meeting/ first rehearsal will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at The Judy.

Rehearsals will be Sundays - Thursdays from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal.

Performances will be presented Friday, December 1, 2023 at 7:00 PM; Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM; and Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM in The Reynolds Auditorium at The Judy.

A participation fee/ tuition of $235 helps meet some of the project's costs.

An Audition Preparatory Workshop for Springfield Little Theatre's Education Series production of MADAGASCAR - A MUSICAL ADVENTURE, JR. will be offered Sunday, January 14, 2024, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at The Judy.

Everyone can benefit from a show’s audition workshop! Learn how to make your very best impression!

Participants will be taught a short movement combination, a portion of a song from the show, and a short line reading, all of which will be used in placement auditions.

The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department is excited to present MADAGASCAR - A MUSICAL ADVENTURE, JR. in its 2023-2024 Education Series! Take a journey out of the zoo and onto the stage with your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends from the blockbuster DreamWorks film.

Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime.  Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, MADAGASCAR - A MUSICAL ADVENTURE, JR. follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.

The beloved children's book written by Jeff Brown is a literary and pop culture phenomenon, delighting readers all around the world. And now, everyone's favorite two-dimensional hero has a new life in THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY, JR. Filled with infectious songs and non-stop adventure, Flat Stanley JR. is a perfect show to introduce young performers to the magic of live theatre.

Adapted for young performers, and with a score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins), HONK, JR. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score.  Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, HONK!, JR. will treat your audiences to equal amounts of laughter and tears.
