Summer Institute Production II, Ages 8-18: Beetlejuice, JR. (6550)

$385
Calendar Jul 21, 2025 at 9 am, runs for 2 weeks

Ages: 4 - 18

Six public performances. Previous experience is required.

Summer Institutes are intensive, all-inclusive theatrical training grounds for experienced musical theatre performers resulting in six public performances.  They provide exciting opportunities for committed students to be a part of a full-scale production. A demanding two-week process from beginning to end, a SLT Summer Institute may best be described as “summer stock” for youth!

It's our show now, kid. The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in BEETLEJUICE, JR., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.

With music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominee Eddie Perfect and a book by Tony Award-nominated pair Anthony King and Scott Brown, Beetlejuice was nominated for eight 2019 Tony Awards including Best New Musical. A viral "sucks-yes" on social media, this musical struck a chord with young theatre lovers who adored its unabashed humor and emotional honesty.

Created for the generation that made it a hit, BEETLEJUICE, JR. is a wacky theatrical party for all!

Ages 8-18, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM; $385

---

Even our youngest performers get to shine in SLT’s Summer Institute! Designed specifically for ages 4-7, this exciting program runs from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM daily and offers a fun, engaging introduction to musical theatre. Participants will explore acting, singing, and dancing in a nurturing and creative environment, all while preparing for their special moments on stage in our full-scale production of BEETLEJUICE, JR.!

This is a fantastic opportunity for young performers to experience the magic of theatre, build confidence, and be part of a professional-style production alongside older cast members. With six public performances, they'll get to share their hard work with family, friends, and theatre lovers alike on the historic Landers stage!
