Participation in a Studio Theatre Production offers a fast-paced rehearsal process for experienced musical theatre teens resulting in six public performances.  They provide exciting opportunities for committed students to be a part of a smaller-cast production in a black-box setting.

The original Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winner, Stephen Schwartz, and it took the world by storm.  Boasting a score with chart topping songs, GODSPELL, JR. is a sensation that continues to touch audiences.

A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance, and love come vibrantly to life.

Step into a whimsical wonderland at The Judy's MAD TEA PARTY Friday Fun Day! Join us for an enchanting day filled with theatre games, delightful crafts, lively contests, and more! Immerse yourself in theatrical concepts and musical theatre dance as we introduce, demonstrate, and perform in true Wonderland style. Enjoy surprises with special guests and whimsical costumed characters that will make your Friday unforgettable! The tea-rific day will conclude with a charming demonstration performance at 4:00 PM, inviting parents and family members to witness the magic. Plus, each student will leave with a delightful gift bag and memories that will linger like the sweet aroma of tea in Wonderland!

Follow the yellow brick road to adventure at OVER THE RAINBOW camp! Dive into the magical world of theater as Summer Stages teaches acting basics through exciting theatre games, scene work, and mesmerizing musical theatre song and dance numbers inspired by timeless classics like The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, Wicked, and more!

On the final day, our talented performers will come together to present a free informal performance for their delighted parents and friends, showcasing their talents and the magic of the land over the rainbow.

But that's not all! Participants with a passion for visual art will have the opportunity to express their creativity by crafting their own headshot display and scenic elements for the show, adding their own unique touch to the rainbow-filled experience.

We'll dive into theatrical concepts and musical theatre with song and dance sessions that will leave you center stage. Enjoy surprises with special guests and captivating costumed characters that will add an extra dose of drama to your Friday! The day's grand finale features an informal demonstration performance at 4:00 PM, inviting proud parents and family members to witness their newfound theatrical flair. Plus, every budding actor and actress will take home a fabulous gift bag, ensuring the memories made are as unforgettable as the performances!

Step into the magical world of royalty with our PRINCESS CAMP Studio Theatre Workshop! Designed especially for our youngest students, this workshop will transport your child into a realm of imagination and creativity fit for a princess. Through engaging theatre games and improvisation activities, participants will learn acting basics while having a royal blast! On the final day, families and friends are invited to a free informal performance featuring songs, dances, and script excerpts they learned throughout the week.

But that's not all! Youngsters enrolled in our Princess-themed workshops will also enjoy exciting activities such as witnessing a live performance, creating themed craft projects, and delving deeper into the magical subject matter with guided storytellers and visits from costumed characters straight out of fairy tales. Don't miss out on this enchanting opportunity for your little prince or princess to shine on stage!

Springfield Little Theatre's Summer Institute presents THE ADDAMS FAMILY Young@Part! Summer Institutes are intensive, all-inclusive theatrical training grounds for experienced musical theatre performers resulting in six public performances.  They provide exciting opportunities for committed students to be a part of a full-scale production. A demanding two-week process from beginning to end, a SLT Summer Institute may best be described as “summer stock” for youth!

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family whom her parents have never met. She confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Technical Theatre Camp offers an incredible opportunity for students 12 and up to gain training, insight, respect for, and hands-on experience in technical theatre from Springfield Little Theatre’s own Scenic, Lighting, Sound, and Costume Designers, and the Summer Youth Programs support staff. Students enrolled in Technical Theatre Camp will not only gain a valuable skill set, but they will also help to create the sets, costumes, and props, as well as serve as the technical crew, Springfield Little Theatre Summer Institute production of THE ADDAMS FAMILY Young@Part.

The day's excitement reaches its peak with a fun demonstration performance at 4:00 PM, inviting proud parents and family members to see everything you learned throughout the day. Plus, every student will take home a fantastic gift bag packed with goodies and memories of their epic Kung Fu adventure!
