Playwriting presented by D.O.T.S. (Teens & Adults) (6430)

Learn the basics of what makes a "Well-Made-Play" and using a variety of writing exercises and groupwork, hone that knowledge into a short play for production at the end of 12 weeks. You will also learn the most common way to format and submit a play for consideration at theaters, festivals, and contests.

Devising Original Theatre presented by D.O.T.S. (Teens & Adults) (6430)

Learn how to create original theatre performances in a variety of collaborative ways. Devising performances collaboratively is an alternative to the traditional playwright to director path for plays. When you join this class you will learn the building blocks of devising as well as how to give and receive feedback to improve creative ideas. In addition, we will learn how to submit a proof of concept or workshopped piece for festivals.

Sweeney Todd - Audition Workshop

An Audition Preparatory Workshop for Springfield Little Theatre's production of SWEENEY TODD will be offered Monday, December 15th from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at The Judy.
Come to the razor’s edge — it’s a workshop to die for!
The Sweeney Todd Workshop and Auditions are open to ages 16 and up. Sweeney Todd runs March 13–29, 2026 @ The Landers
Seeking:· Strong theatrical vocalists· Actors who move well·
Audition Prep: Prepare no more than a 1-minute theatrical vocal selection that best showcases your abilities.· Please have your music in a binder, clearly marked with “start,” “stop,” and any other pertinent details.
Please wear comfortable shoes, as there will be a movement portion during the workshop.

Whether it’s your first audition or your 20th, everyone can benefit from a show’s audition workshop! Learn how to choose the material that’s best for you, develop your cold reading skills, improve your vocal selections, survive a dance audition, and make your very best impression!
Participants are asked to prepare a one-minute vocal selection and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. If you need help finding a selection that works for you, no worries, we can help you accomplish that at the workshop! A movement combination will also be taught, and participants will have the opportunity to explore cold readings, as well.

December - Tap Workshop with Chyrel Love Miller

Springfield Little Theatre is excited to offer four skill-building Tap Dancing Workshops led by grand-dame Chyrel Love Miller, who will be steering the ship for Anything Goes, the closing ta-da of our 2025-2026 Landers mainstage season!
Whether you’re new to tap or looking to sharpen your skills, these workshops offer something for you:
· First Half: Beginner Level Perfect for newcomers! Learn foundational tap steps, terminology, and rhythm basics in a supportive and fun environment.
· Second Half: Experienced Dancers Dive deeper into combinations, style, and performance flair.
Experienced dancers are invited to attend the full workshop, starting with the beginner session to warm up and refine their fundamentals. Beginners are welcome to stay for the entire workshop and challenge themselves alongside more advanced dancers.
Don't miss this exciting opportunity to dance, grow, and/or prepare for auditions for the show!
