The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department is excited to present THE CLAW in its 2025-2026 Education Series! In THE CLAW, when an out-of-order claw game suddenly turns back on, all of the toys are ecstatic! Well… all of the toys except for Dot, a terrified stuffed cow. Dot’s desperate to hold onto her home and her best friend, Aiden. Can Dot conquer her fear of the unknown with some help from the Flair Bears, Mighty Mutant Power Turtles, Beanie Elders, and the all-knowing Mystical 8-ball?

Placement auditions for performers ages 8 through 18 will be held Sunday, March 29th, 2026 at 7:00 PM at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre ("The Judy"). At the auditions, participants will be taught a short movement combination and a portion of a song from the show and will be given and asked to perform a short line reading.

Check out the audition workshop on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, to get a jump-start on the competition!

The cast and parent meeting/ first rehearsal will be held Tuesday, March 31st, 2026 at 7:00 PM at The Judy!

Rehearsals will begin Monday, April 6th, 2026 and will run Sundays - Thursdays from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal.

Performances will be presented Friday, May 15th at 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 16th at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, and Sunday, May 17th at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM in The Reynolds Auditorium at The Judy.

A participation fee/ tuition helps meet some of the project's costs.

LET'S MAKE A PLAY DATE!

Join us during the 2025-2026 school year for School’s Out, Play-in-a-Day workshops.  These workshops provide a unique opportunity for children to undergo training in the performing arts and are a lifesaver for parents when the kids are out of school!

Children ages 8 to 12 are invited to participate in a full day of creative play, including theatre games, improvisation, dance, and an art project. They will also tackle a script that they will perform at the end of the day! Bring a sack lunch, a water bottle, and an awesome attitude!

An Audition Preparatory Workshop for Springfield Little Theatre's Youth Entertainment Series production of DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2, JR. will be offered Sunday, April 19th, 2026 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at The Judy.

Whether it’s your first audition or your 20th, everyone can benefit from a show’s audition workshop! Learn how to choose the material that’s best for you, develop your cold reading skills, improve your vocal selections, survive a dance audition, and make your very best impression!

Participants are asked to prepare a one-minute vocal selection and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. If you need help finding a selection that works for you, no worries, we can help you accomplish that at the workshop! A movement combination will also be taught, and participants will have the opportunity to explore cold readings, as well.
