Production Camp - Alice In Wonerland, JR. (6590)

Production Camp offers an enriching opportunity for students 12 and up to gain training, insight, respect for, and hands on experience in technical theatre from The Judy’s own Scenic, Lighting, Sound, and Costume Designers, and the SLT summer support staff. Students enrolled in Production Camp will not only gain a valuable skill set, but they will also help to create the sets, costumes, and props, as well as serve as the technical crew, for the SLT Summer Series presentation of DISNEY'S ALICE IN WONDERLAND, JR.
PERFORMANCES: Thursday and Friday, June 20 and 21, 2024; 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM

ALICE IN WONDERLAND, JR. features Disney favorites such as “The Golden Afternoon,” “The Unbirthday Song,” and “Painting the Roses Red” along with brand-new songs, including music from the 2010 live-action film. Whether this is your first experience with Alice or your hundredth, you’ll fall in love all over again with this timeless story of adventure, imagination, and pure fun!

Participation in a Studio Theatre Production offers a fast-paced rehearsal process for experienced musical theatre teens resulting in six public performances. They provide exciting opportunities for committed students to be a part of a smaller-cast production in a black-box setting.

A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance, and love come vibrantly to life.

Immerse yourself in theatrical concepts and musical theatre dance as we introduce, demonstrate, and perform in true Wonderland style. Enjoy surprises with special guests and whimsical costumed characters that will make your Friday unforgettable! The tea-rific day will conclude with a charming demonstration performance at 4:00 PM, inviting parents and family members to witness the magic. Dive into the magical world of theater as Summer Stages teaches acting basics through exciting theatre games, scene work, and mesmerizing musical theatre song and dance numbers inspired by timeless classics like The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, Wicked, and more!
On the final day, our talented performers will come together to present a free informal performance for their delighted parents and friends, showcasing their talents and the magic of the land over the rainbow.
But that's not all! Participants with a passion for visual art will have the opportunity to express their creativity by crafting their own headshot display and scenic elements for the show, adding their own unique touch to the rainbow-filled experience.
